Week 16 & 17

Sorry I’ve gotten a little behind, just been busy.  We went to the doctor on October 10th and got to hear the heartbeat again – the most beautiful sound in the entire world.  Excuse the video of just my big belly, it was just a doppler so no image, Ryan was just getting the sound.

I’m feeling a lot better these days, finally!  I actually just had my first beef in about 5 or 6 weeks, so we shall see!  I will be 17 weeks tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 20) so I figured I’d put both on here to be caught up!

We go in to the doctor next Thursday, Oct. 27 to find out the sex of the baby – so fingers crossed that baby cooperates and isn’t doing head stands again!

I’ve also done a little shopping, so I’ll post in a day or so some of the goodies I’ve gotten for baby and nursery!

Baby’s now the size of an avocado!
Watch what you say…tiny bones forming in baby’s ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.

Baby’s now the size of an onion!
Baby’s skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

Week 15!

Good news!  I’m finally feeling almost human again – no more all day nausea (well as long as I don’t eat beef or cereal).  We go to the doctor on Friday for a routine check-up – probably will just hear the heartbeat and find out how much weight I’ve gained in the past few weeks!  Here is a picture we took on Saturday – we went to another USC game – met up with Ryan’s college friend, it was a lot of fun.  You can tell my stomach is growing quite a bit.

I can’t believe how big the baby is getting, I can’t wait for our next sonogram appointment – we should get to find out if it’s a boy or girl if the little one will cooperate – that is on Thursday, October 27, so just a couple of weeks!

Baby’s now the size of a naval orange!
Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby’s legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can’t feel the movements just yet.

Also, the baby shower is scheduled in Texas for Sunday, December 18th probably around 2 or 3, so mark your calendars!

Love to All….
